Hansori ("the app") is a Korean listening and speaking practice app. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes. The short version: Hansori has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no server of its own. Your learning data stays on your device.
Microphone audio. When you use a speaking exercise (Shadow), the app records your voice with your permission. That recording is saved temporarily on your device, used once for scoring, and deleted immediately after scoring.
Recordings you choose to keep. In My Phrases, a phrase's detail screen has a separate "Record my voice" button. Those takes are kept on your device so you can play them back and score them again later. The app keeps the five most recent takes per phrase and deletes older ones automatically. You can delete any take from that screen, and deleting a phrase deletes all of its takes with it.
Neither kind of recording is ever uploaded to us — we have no server to upload them to.
Speech recognition. To score your pronunciation, the app sends your practice audio to Apple's Speech Recognition service, which may process it on Apple's servers. This processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can revoke microphone and speech recognition access at any time in Settings → Hansori; speaking exercises simply stop working, and the rest of the app is unaffected.
Learning data. Your practice history, progress, streaks, and saved phrases are stored only on your device. They are never transmitted anywhere. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Free-trial start date and last-opened time. Two values are stored on your device in the iOS keychain, which means they survive deleting and reinstalling the app: the date your free trial began, and the most recent time the app was opened. This is deliberate: the first stops the trial from restarting on every reinstall, and the second stops it from restarting when the device clock is set back. They are stored on this device only — not synced to iCloud, not linked to any account, and never transmitted to us. iOS removes them when you erase the device.
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Purchase entitlements are verified on your device using Apple's StoreKit.
Notifications. If you enable the daily reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device. No notification data leaves your device.
Hansori is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app stores no personal information beyond the on-device learning data described above.
